Frequently Asked Questions
Can I deploy an app for free (without purchasing a Source Code License)?
No, to deploy a Dropsource-built app to an app store, MDM, or internal distribution service, you’ll need to purchase a Source Code License for $999/year per app, which will provide you unlimited source code downloads of that app for 1 year.
Is monthly billing an option for Source Code Licenses?
No, it is not, as all Source Code Licenses are billed annually.
Does a Source Code License apply for more than one mobile app?
No, a Source Code License is purchased on a per app basis. For example, if you want to launch an iOS and an Android app, you will be required to purchase two Source Code Licenses.
Do I need to enter my credit card to sign up?
No, you don’t. You can create and test as many apps as you want for free without ever entering a credit card. You will only be asked to enter a credit card when you want to download the source code for your app, which is required to deploy your app to the app store.
What is the difference between Developer Community support and the Developer Assistance add-on?
Developer Community support is completely free and will be handled via our Community Forum. You will receive support from both the Dropsource team and our community of developers. Our Developer Assistance add-on enables customers to engage directly through live chat with our mobile experts for help with development, troubleshooting, and advice on best practices. The Developer Assistance add-on applies across all of your apps.
Can I cancel at anytime?
Yes, you can. Just email us at billing@dropsource.com and we’ll cancel your license renewal. You will continue to be able to download the source code for your app until your Source Code License renewal date, at which time your license will be canceled.
If I publish my app to the App Store or Google Play Store then do not renew my Source Code License, will my published app be affected?
No, it will not. Once your app is published it will not be impacted by the status of your Source Code License in Dropsource. If you do not renew your Source Code License, you will no longer be able to download updated source code to deploy new versions of your app but your already published apps will be unaffected.
